WiFi Not Working? Quick Diagnostic
A WiFi outage is usually one of three things: the router, the device, or the ISP. Here is how to figure out which — fast.
Try These First
Most WiFi problems are fixed by restarting the router. The rest are usually device-specific or ISP outages.
- Restart the router (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in)
- Check if other devices can connect — if yes, the device is the problem
- Check if no devices can connect — likely router or ISP issue
- Visit your ISP outage map (Comcast, CenturyLink, etc.)
- On the device: forget the network and reconnect
- Update WiFi drivers (Windows) or reset network settings (Mac)
- Still no luck — call us for on-site help
