Phishing links can install malware, capture credentials, or trigger ransomware. The faster you act, the more you can contain.
- Disconnect from network immediately if you entered credentials anywhere
- Change the password for any account you may have entered (and any other accounts using the same password)
- Enable two-factor authentication on all important accounts
- Check sent folder if you submitted email password — was anything sent?
- Run a full malware scan with Windows Defender
- Notify your IT person or call us immediately
- For business accounts — alert your IT or security team
- Watch for unauthorized transactions on bank/credit accounts
